There were several medical boxes locked with keypads. The code was something Axel would have been filled in on early in his time on the Aurora.

Down the hall, there were some shots of blaster fire. "After her!" an unknown, masculine voice shouted. There was the sound of a shut door and some banging afterwards. "Kriff!"

Axel grit his teeth in frustration. He wouldn't be any good to anyone dead, but losing precious seconds stimming when his shipmates were getting shot was frustrating.

"Kriff." He growled as he operated the box as fast as he good. Grabbing up a handful of stims, he injected them all at once.

His eyes went wide as the drugs hit his system. Panting roughly, he dashed down the hall, looking for more opponents. Victims. People to save. Whatever.

(let me know how many I can use)
(the answer was 2. Back to 6/18 wounds)

Just as Axel came around the corner, there were the other Deskulls knocking at the door, three in number and a bit worse for wear. They turned around, a bit surprised to have Axel to contend with.

Filled with adrenaline, bloodlust, and a lot of stims, Axel was more than ready for a fight.

Screaming in battle-fury, Axel rushed forward. He lead with a heavy blow from his fist, opening defenses. And then his knife worked with brutal efficiency, punching through bone and deep into vitals.

In what was merely moments, two men were lying dead and one more remained. He dropped his blaster pistol and went up against the wall.

"You don't have to kill me," he pleaded.

Axel rushed forward. His forearm trapped the man's throat, pinning him against the wall. More pressure, and he was lifted off the ground. The knife turned in Axel's hand...

There was a pause, the man's life in the balance. Axel was poised to strike, his powerful muscles filled with explosive energy. He could even just wait, as his forearm cut off the man's air, leaving him to suffocate. The moment stretch on and on.

Grunting, Axel released his hold, although he did follow up with a solid right hook that knocked the gang member unconscious. "Guess I don't." He muttered.

Still panting, Axel moved to the door. He banged on it heavily with his fist. "It's Axel." He said, his voice firm, but not too loud; there might be others, after all. "You okay in there?"

The door opened up and there was one heiress sitting in the corner, fashioning a makeshift device with her pistol next to her. "Axel," Orella remarked, "You've looked better."

She closed the door with a flick of her wrist and then opened it back up. "I've jury-rigged the system to be under my control now. Hopefully I can get access to some of the defense mechanisms too."

Axel's chest was still heaving as he breathed, combat adrenaline slowly fading.

"Can you tell me where they are? I'll go take more of 'em out. I was headed to the armory." He grimaced. "We've got injured. Don't know if any are dead."

"I can try to get the cameras back online," Orella noted. She picked up her pistol too and headed to the door. "You shouldn't be going alone though."

"Hasn't stopped me before." Axel growled. But he relented, waiting for her before moving again.

"Armory?" He grunted as they set off. "Or do we need to make sure they're not in engineering, or the bridge?"

"Armoy. We'll have to assess the situation after we get better equipment." Orella sighed. "Hopefully no casualties come up on comms."

Orella stepped outside after clearing it and pointed at the man. "I heard what happened," she said. She gave him a soft smile. "I'm glad."

"Oh." Axel grunted. He looked away. Not killing one man didn't make him not a killer. He was still covered in the blood of those who hadn't tried to surrender. And his own.

Still, he nodded. "It's something I'm trying, I guess. Maybe there doesn't always need to be killing."

"I won't question the reasoning right now," Orella said. She went back into the room and grabbed a few zip ties. "Help me with this. We'll shove him in a locker and lock the door afterwards."

Axel was both capable and willing to do the manhandling required, twisting the unconscious man's form into the appropriate shapes to tie him. And then stuffing him into a locker after.

"Any idea how many are left?" He asked.

"I couldn't say," Orella admitted, "I'm not a tactician." She checked the sight of her WESTAR-35 and then nodded. "We'll just have to hope we can even the odds with the weaponry from the armory.

Axel grunted. "Damn right we will." He held up the knife. "Although this is a damn good knife. Still won't mind getting my hands on my vibrosword."

Orella held up the blaster pistol with one hand and looked to her other. Right now, it was mainly for her wrist computer, but she waved her fingers.

"Do you think I should try out two pistols?" she asked. She then shook her head. "Nevermind, we should get moving. What's the play?"

Axel shook his head. "Not unless you've done it a hundred times before. Battle's not the place for trying new things unless you really have to."

He considered her question, lips pressed together. "If you get the cameras, we try avoid 'em until we can gear up. Otherwise..." He held up his knife.
