[D6 LM] Spike and Slice
Rose turned the data spikes the cagey blonde had provided in her hands. She was concerned about what they were programmed to do, and how they would fit into the plan. Standing at a console, she isolated a port so the spike wouldn't activate when it was connected.

Hair still damp after hitting the showers, Phoebe was heading to the lounge with an energy drink in hand when she spotted Rose by one of the consoles.
Taking a sip, the bunny veered her course in red's direction. "Mornin'. What'cha got there?"

Pointing to the Bunny’s drink, “I could ask you the same thing.” Rose smiled and continued, “it’s that data spike we got. Remember the blonde at lunch yesterday?” Crossing her arms and tapping her fingers in the opposite biceps, “I’d like to know what we’re dealing with here. I’d like to know why they got impounded, too, but I don’t know where to start with that.”

"Caffeinated energy drink, Red," she held up the can before taking another sip.
Phoebe regarded the console with the spike, and Rose for a few moments. "Hmmm..." if she was suspicious it didn't seem to show on her expression. "If I were to guess, she might be one of the more outspoken against CorSec. Not that I can blame either party too much - throwing off the shackles of the Empire doesn't just magically make everything peachy, right?"
Another sip. "I'm not an expert on slicing, but I can help you take a look at it if you want."

Re: [D6 LM] Spike and Slice
Rose chuckled at Phoebe’s literal answer, realising she wasn’t sure what she actually expected the young woman to say. “I hope it’s as innocuous as that,” there wasn’t a lot of room for fancy morals in Rose’s world, her concern was about risk assessment. If the attack on the Aurora hadn’t been a sufficient lesson in being careful who you piss off, nothing would be.

"You think she might be setting us up for a trap?" Phoebe mused, interested in hearing Rose's thoughts on the matter.

Rose shook her head, “not a trap, no.” She paused a moment to gather her thoughts, “we’re targeting CorSec, and that’s going to draw attention, and the blame’s going to fall on our heads. Let’s say this does a denial of service attack that interrupts security at the hanger, that’s no big deal. No lasting harm there.”
She unfolded her arms to flick a strand of hair, “but let’s say there’s a virus trojaned in here. Something that does serious damage to CorSec, or steals important information, that could go badly for us if CorSec wants to make someone pay.”

"Hmmm... but isn't that also a bit risky for the mystery-lady?" Phoebe tapped her chin in thought, tilting her head up with a contemplative look on her face.
"It's not impossible though, what you're saying."

Nodding, “risky, sure,” Rose agreed, “but less risky than just doing it herself.” Shrugging, “I’m sure it’s nothing, but it doesn’t hurt to have a little healthy paranoia.”

"Oh, I'm not disagreeing with that," she agreed. "After one attack on the ship and Mama Bear getting shot outside the spaceport, a dose of paranoia is a healthy thing."
Phoebe gave a thumbs up. "And I'm a medic, so I know what's healthy."

Rose chuckled in genuine amusement, but sobered quickly. “What do we know about Treya getting shot? Hangman?”

"The one and only," she said with a more sober tone as well. "He or someone who works for him managed to plant a comm on Coryn before the shot, and as we were getting our bearings he called up to float."
"He's a real piece of work that one. Were it up to me, Vanito Cadera would be declared dar'manda."

Shaking her head, “what an asshole. The sooner we pin him down, the better.”

That she certainly agreed with, and nodded firmly. "Mm. Just wish I knew more about tracking people in general. Honestly not my area of expertise, unless you count just asking around nicely."
She puffed out a breath of air that ruffled her bangs slightly. "Though he's not the type to leave too many people behind that are willing to talk. And those who talk are too terrified to say much. I just hope he doesn't try to do anything to the ship... like bug it or lay traps."

“I know what you mean. I mostly feel like I’ve been sitting around waiting, but I don’t know how to go out there and find him. Not without tipping him off and sending him deeper underground.” Rose has been floating around for years, trying to find out what she wanted to do with herself, but she felt she wasn’t any closer to answering that question.

"Well, I know Coryn's good at following this type of stuff. Maybe have a word with'im? He probably wouldn't mind an extra pair of guns around incase the situation arises," she smirked slightly. Red was pretty good with her blasters, after all.

“I’m no chiss hunter,” Rose had seen the fancy-ass rifle Riza had ordered, “but I can hold my own.”

Phoebe snickered. "No need to compare yourself to the blue one. You both got your specialties, and well, you're much more sociable than her."

Rose laughed easily, “true, true. I hear she went out hunting this morning, took the boys?” She’d asked for an invite the previous day, but didn’t seem bothered to have been left behind.

"So I heard," she chuckled. "I think I got enough of hunting for a while after Tatooine. Once you've fought a Krayt Dragon, even a small one, it just takes the fun out of regular hunting."
