[D2, ME] Date night

[Coryn Kusat]

Mod Eisley never really quieted down. There was always that bustling in the background of people going about their business, nefarious, legitimate, or otherwise. All that really changed was the lighting, which was made more complicated by the twin stars.

Having established the best rated restaurant in the area (high ratings, low body count) Coryn had booked a table and sent Maeve a message saying he'd meet her there. As it turned out he was the first to arrive.

The woman didn't leave him waiting long, arriving a few minutes later. She was dressed well, in an attractive outfit mimicing a pants suit, though the cut meant it obviously wasn't meant for business meetings. Spotting Coryn she made her wave over a warm smile on her lips.

"Coryn. I hope I didn't keep you waiting too long?"

Somehow he managed to keep his cool and stood smoothly with a warm smile. "Not at all Maeve. Honestly, you could have kept me waiting a lot longer. You look lovely." He pulled out a seat for her.

"Tel me about your day."

[Evencious]

She took the seat with a smile of thanks. "Thank you."

"But making you wait any longer would of been rude, though I'll keep that in mind." Maeve finished playfully.

Setting aside her hand bag, she looked Coryn over for a few moments. "My day? Are you sure you want to hear about what it's like running a shop in Mos Eisley?"

After making sure she was comfortable he took his own seat again. Coryn was wearing smart but heavier clothes and a few armour plates in deference to the Resol'nare. He looked at her for a few moments then sat back in his chair.

"The kinda life I've had Maeve, it would be nice to hear about a day that didn't involve a version of the phrase 'and then I shot him/her/it'." Giving her a winning smile he added. "Besides. It was your day. I'm interested."

"Well." She hesitated a moment. "Don't sat I didn't warn you." She continued her tone teasing.

"If you didn't know, the store I work at is a family business, my father owns it we deal in a lot of general goods. Well, general is probably a pretty broad term. We supply alot of the moisture farms in the area, and play middle man to various other interests." Its why he had stepped in or so it had seemed.

"So most days are pretty much the same. Seeing similar faces, chatting a bit with the other employees and stuff like that. With what we sell we dont get a lot of the rough and tumble types coming in."

Listening to her brought a smile to his lips. He pointed to himself as she finished.

"Rough and tumble types like me you mean? Probably for the best. Sounds like you've got a nice life on Tatooine if you want it Maeve. I can understand the pull of a family business, that's what I'm in too. It's just a little more... Well, I like 'rough and tumble', let's go with that."

Coryn winked and looked over as the server approached. "What do you fancy Maeve? I heard this place was good but I must admit I didn't look at the menu."

[Evencious]

"Yes,." She replied with a light laugh. "though you clean up a lot better then most of the rough and tumble types. Makes you look more like a solider then anything else."

At his commment she nodded. "It is a good like, a bit dull at times, and the planet itself has quite a few dangers, still it's not bad. Just a bit booring sometimes. It would be nice to be able to see things like mountains and trees. Lakes! And not just on a screen."

With a blink she turned towards the menu, it seemed she hadn't looked up either. "How about we start with drinks?"

"Well thank you kindly. Drinks, yes, sounds good." Coryn waited for her to pick something. Then without reading it too closely he looked up at the server. "I'll have whatever's close enough to an Old Fashioned, thanks."

Smiling at Maeve he added: "Good guess by the way. I served in the alliance. Worked for a mercenary company before that. Being a soldier can be boring too, in amongst the short periods of intense action." He thought about all those days spent roaming mountains and forests one step ahead of the Empire.

"Ever been off-world, or were you born here?"

[Evencious]

Maeve picked a fruited martini and hoped it wasnt too heavy. She wouldn't want to find herself drunk after all.

"Boring or not those action packed days seem to me that they are dangerous." There was a small pause as she pursued the menu. They likely had something that wasnt too heavy.


"But no, I was born here, and I've never had the chance to go elsewhere. The stars and far off planets are still a bit of a dream to me."

[Coryn Kusat]

"You'd be right, of course. It's the life I was born to though, so I don't begrudge the danger, I just train for it." He leaned forward and raised his glass. "Brought me to where I am today, here, with you. K'oyacyi Maeve."

After clinking the glasses together he looked at the menu for some sort of salad. "If you had the chance, to go off-world, would you take it?"

[Evencious]

She didn't understand the word but the gesture was familar enough, clinkign her glass against his she replied with a happy. "Cheers, Coryn." Before taking a sip.

The question caused her to pause and she bit her lip thoughtfully. "I don't know, I'd like to go but a lot would depend on the circumstances. If that makes any sense, there is a lot to think about in a trip like that after all."

[Coryn Kusat]

He nodded. "Yeah, I get that. It's a big step if you've not done it before, but you get used to it." He took a moment to enjoy the flavour of the drink he'd ordered.

"Has your family ever thought about expanding the business off-world? Might be a good opportunity, if you really want to get out and see some of the galaxy."

[Evencious]

"Well, I don't know. My father handles most of theat sort of thing." She paused thoufully. "It might be something to bring up to him at the very least. Even if we don't go to any of the inner worlds, another place in the Outer Rim or maybe the Mid Rim might be possible."

She took a sip of her drink. "Any planets you would suggest for something like that? You seem to have visited a lot fo them."

[Coryn Kusat]

"I guess it depends on whether you need desert worlds, or if the business works just as well for settlers on any planet. I can give you a list of places that might work?" He sipped his drink and smiled. "Of course you can't beat a fact-finding expedition to see for yourself"

[Evencious]

"Well, It might be nice to connect to a world with different needs then this one, maybe one that can fill some of the demands we have." She reached up a hand and tucked a stray hair behind her ear

"You're right though, at the very least a fact finding mission would likely be in order."

[Coryn Kusat]

Coryn flashed a smile. "Well, we're only here a couple of days before moving on. Me and the other Mandalorians. Good opportunity though. I mean, if you did come with me it would more of a joyride than a mission..."

He leaned back. "You're probably busy this week. Still, if you ever do want to leave Tatooine you've got my number."

Another sip went down nicely. "You know, I sang in one of the cantinas here about a year ago. Didn't really expect to be back." That had been a funny time in his life.

[Evencious]

That caused her to arch an eyebrow her lips curling into a playful smile. "A joy ride, huh? You're quite sure or yourself now aren't you?"

"You're right though, I do have your number, so at the very least it is something to think about." Though she was also a little busy.

The last comment brought a bit of an incredulous expression to her features. "You singing in a Cantina, here? Were you dressed up as a scantily clad Twi'lek?"

He couldn't help but laugh at that image. "That's quite the picture you've painted. Heh, no, they had a 'Battle of the Bands - Outer Rim edition' here. I was touring with a bunch of friends, we played together for a while. It was a good way of getting over the war."

[Evencious]

"Oh, that sounds fun." She watched him for a moment, pondering something. "Did if help being the band and all that and spending some time touring the galaxy?"
