The slavers were of course waiting for such a response. Kairi took a shot at the one on the left (Slaver #1) while charging in with her bayonet. The man took the bolt to the chest and wheezed, not quite down for the count.

Inside, there was a bit of rumbling by the windows...

"Axel! Take point!" Phoebe ordered as Kairi took the opening shot, her greatsword coming to her hand as she moved up to follow Axel.

"Hurry up!" he barked towards the door before shooting. His shot went wide and he kept trying to hobble to safety.

Axel had responded to Phoebe's shout by snatching up his own sword. He charged the one who hadn't yet responded to the attack.

With a battle-cry, Axel charged right into the man, swinging his humming sword with tremendous force, both cutting into him and knocking him about.

"Kriff," the other one gasped, he pulled out his gun and didn't find the breath to get away. He fired his shot right into the man's blade, sending it into the sand. The impact sent a lot of the coarse material into the air.

The sand got everywhere, enough to make Kairi flat-footed against the men braced inside. The bolts knocked her blaster into the sand, getting it everywhere in the barrel.

As the blade was shot from his hands, Axel reached out, catching the slaver by the throat. He held his grip as he snatched up his sword, smashing the hilt into his captive's face as he did so.

That problem dealt with, he turned towards the rest of the thugs.

In response, she roared in pain and picked up her rifle. She got onto her knees and performed her double tap maneuver, taking down two of them and grazing the last.

These were some stubborn kath-hounds, and with an angry growl, Phoebe proceeded to finish off the last one standing of the group that had been shooting at Kairi.

No one attack her new clan and got away with it!

The last one inside slumped over. From her position, Phoebe could see a few more inside. One of them was holding another hostage, blaster to the head, while another was on the comm.

"Kriff, that was quick. Don't come in or he's toast!"

[Axel Ward]

Axel ground his teeth together. Kriff these guys.

"You got one chance to get out of this alive. And that's to walk outta here right now, and leave him behind. You do anything else, and I'll kill every last kriffin' one of you." Axel bellowed, not bothering to use the comms.

[Nekoinu]

"How do we know you won't kill us when we come outside?!"

[Axel Ward]

"You don't." Axel yelled. "But it's the only chance you've got."

"Besides, we're Mandalorians, and Mandalorians always keep their promises." He glanced at Phoebe and Kairi with a shrug. Maybe that was true.

[Kairi Laerrin]

"Kriff, you actually staked our honor," Kairi stated. She planted her rifle butt into the ground and punched the places she had been shot. "Might need Kryze for a bit of repair."

[Axel Ward]

"Well, we're not gonna kill them if they do as I say, right?" Axel asked. "Just to be clear, they do anything else, I'm all for killin' 'em, but if they leave right now..." He shrugged.

[Phoebe Wren]

"Agreed," Phoebe nodded. "You have only one chance to walk away from this."

[Nekoinu]

The gang talked among themselves and then headed for the door. Damien was left there as they headed out into the sand.

They didn't want to look at any of the Mandalorians. They kept on going and, once they had walked last, they broke out into a sprint to get away.

[Axel Ward]

Axel grunted. That was that, then.

Reaching down, he hauled up the unconscious slaver, carrying him along as he rushed into the building.

Damien, a human who may have been scrawny even if he wasn't malnourished, was tied up with a hood over his entire head. It was clear that he was gagged too..

When the restraints were loosened, he did not appear too relieved to be rescued. "We need to leave," he gasped, "They called more to come."
