(D1 MM Open) On the Prowl

[Treya Laerrin]

Treya loomed over the table. Internally, she was piecing together the limited information she had before her. One lead: a man whom may not even be on the planet any longer. But he was notorious on Tatooine in a different way from the likes of Boba Fett. Unlike Fett, this one, 'The Hangman,' stuck to the shadows. More of an assassin with no public persona. Nobody hired him for intimidation nor to capture someone alive.

[Axel Ward]

Axel was there, still wearing his casual workout clothing: a tank top, and loose fitting fatigue pants.

And a scowl, but that was standard.

[Coryn Kusat]

Coryn was there too. He also wore some non-descript clothing of the sort that could quickly be exchanged for underarmour. He flashed a smile on seeing Axel's scowl but it quickly returned to a look of professional curiosity.

Tatooine. Decent cantina bands. Otherwise a sandy shithole.

[Phoebe Wren]

Already she thought the ship felt warmer than it normally did, and her jacket was already tied around her waist as she showed up, wearing a loose tank top and black leggings.

Her jaw moved in a faint chewing motion, but she refrained from popping gum in this kind of meeting.

She didn't scowl, but rather tried to look very serious.

[Riza]

Tatooine, always seemed better in memory when you weren't feeling the heat anymore.

Prepared for her immediate venture down to the planet post meeting Riza was armed, armored, and wearing a thermal cloak over all of it. With her helmet held underneath her left arm, against her side.

[Treya Laerrin]

"Tatooine, eh? Perfect place for a vacation," Treya remarked to the others on standby. She pointed down at the display showing directly below the ship. "Two bloody suns, burning up the place? Perfect to roast everyone in their armor.

"Perfect place to test everyone's mettle." And metal too, but she wasn't going to make the pun verbally. Treya pulled up pictures of Vanito Cadera as well as the rest of his dossier. His family, his allegiance to Clan Saxon, his methods. Hanged men, women, and even a few children.

"Keep your eyes peeled for this fellow. Some of you have solid underworld connections. Just try to not burn them all up." So many Tatooine puns. "And do not engage. Call it in if you find the bugger."

[Rose Sorenn]

Like Riza, the redhead had shown up in full kit, matched blasters low on her hips, voluminous thermal cloak slung about her shoulders. She observed the information carefully, without comment. Rose tapped on the grips of her weapons with her gloved fingers, making no sound.

[Coryn Kusat]

Coryn nodded and read through the salient points. Saxon huh? Total shitbag, check. "Got it." He looked around at the others. "I don't have the contacts but I'll back you up and sweet talk as needed."

[Riza]

"A man is no different from a beast in the wild," she added, resting an arm on her slung blaster rifle.

"If he's gone to hiding out in the desert, I will find him. You can be certain of that."

[Treya Laerrin]

"Perhaps. He may be in Mos Eisley itself, though that is not so different from the wilds," Treya remarked. She pulled up a layout of the city. A few hotspots were circled. Next to their markers were pictures of more victims. "After the demise of Jabba the Hutt, individuals like him were very popular." The dates attached to those locations were months old.

"This is the last trail we have for the bugger. I won't lie and say there isn't a personal vendetta involved here." Treya sighed and brought back up the pictures of the man himself. "Don't get too tired up looking for him. We need to accumulate resources and, more importantly, a reputation."

[Axel Ward]

Axel didn't seem the least bit surprised by the image, although his scowl deepened.

"I could ask around." He shrugged. "Even if I don't know anyone, I can usually find a few answers. I have a way with people." His tone was bland.

[Phoebe Wren]

"We should probably work in groups then, just to be sure if this guy is as dangerous as it sounds," she suggested. Treya seemed to be driving home how dangerous he could be, at least to her.

[Riza]

"I have been here before," she offerred, shifting her weight to the right.

"I will get back if, and when, I hear of anything but there will be some visits that are needing to be paid first. After, I can join up with whomever needs a hand."

[Kairi Laerrin]

Kairi stepped forward, unbidden by her mother. They met eyes and, in that brief exchange, it seemed like the eldest daughter had received permission to speak.

"Our target is dangerous but can be studied." Kairi selected a few pieces of media and brought them up. Each was footage mid-combat, some blurry camera feeds before being shot out. "Beskad, WESTAR-35, Crushgaunts. All weaponry from Mandalore itself. His stance is reminiscent of footage of the Death Watch.

"So while in a straight-up fight he's predictable, it's his other tactics that are less so. His skills with the whipcord launcher is admittedly impressive. More importantly, reports show him being a ghost until his cover is blown. Only so many guards can go missing before somebody notices."

[Rose Sorenn]

Rose watched the footage critically, but she seemed particularly interested in the target’s whipcord techniques.

[Riza]

"Best to send a wraith to hunt a ghost," she commented passively. "What are our motives with this one? Need to know why he's our target to know how to move forward. If he needs to die visibly or just disappear, or if he needs to die at all."

[Axel Ward]

Axel grunted. "Teamwork's important on this one. Splitting up is just asking to be picked off one at a time. We should use the buddy system, regular comm checks. Maybe other things."

Instinctively, his eyes flickered to Kairi for leadership. Old habit.

[Kairi Laerrin]

"If we're lucky, he'd carry around useful intel. But I don't want to depend on luck," Kairi explained. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. "So the preference is to take him in alive for questioning. But if circumstances call for it, the target can be eliminated."

[Coryn Kusat]

Coryn's eyes had narrowed as he read the report and viewed the footage. He nodded when Kairi finished. "Be worth checking at the spaceport in case he's got a ship stashed. If so he'll probably have paid someone off to keep it quiet. I'll see what I can find."

[Axel Ward]

Axel scowled and folded his arms. For a moment, it looked like he was about to say something, but he looked away instead.
