(D8 LE) Takeoff Briefing

[Treya Laerrin]

Treya stared at an overview of the planet Zeltros as she waited for the rest to report in. Her expression was grim as she analyzed the geography, searching for where a hidden base could lie.

[Coryn Kusat]

Coryn turned up early with a copy of the data they had extracted from Valtair's datachip. He was curious to know what they would be getting into. From Cadera's description it sounded like it had the potential to be a war zone.

[Phoebe Wren]

Phoebe wasn't one to be late and she wasn't this time either, but her mood was certainly subdued today compared to other days.

She was also damn tired.

[Axel Ward]

With the treatment he'd had yesterday, Axel was there, looking as healthy and as surly as ever.

He waited, arms crossed over his chest, for the meeting to begin.

[Rose Sorenn]

Rose had heard rumours about Zeltros, and was curious about the planet for reasons entirely unrelated to their mission.

[Riza]

Present, Riza found a place to prop herself up and receive the briefing. Focused on why she'd come here.

[Treya Laerrin]

"I wouldn't have thought Imperial Remnants would hide out on Zeltros of all places," Treya mused, "Probably why they picked it. They're running a tight enough operation that even one of their operatives was kept in the dark about their base's exact location. We'll have to find it and carefully enough not to spook them off."

[Riza]

"We're hunting Imperial Remnants now?" Riza asked.

[Treya Laerrin]

"We were always suspicious of Vanito Cadera's ties to Clan Saxon. He's since confirmed that there are surviving members."

[Phoebe Wren]

Phoebe figured Riza hadn't kept herself in the loop of recent history. It was a messy history though, so it wasn't something she could blame the blue one for.

"Clan Saxon's been loyal to the Empire since its inception, it wasn't going to change when it fell, and Cadera's been their top assassin for quite some today." Her face was serious as she spoke, her jaw hard and stiff.

"Now we've learned that the Saxons and their Imperial allies haven't gone away quietly."

[Axel Ward]

Axel grimaced at the word 'carefully'. "That part's the trick, huh? Finding them without letting on that we're looking for them. I've never been to Zeltros, but I figure people in armor really stick out there."

[Phoebe Wren]

She nodded in agreement, expression grim as well. "Mandalorian armor and jetpacks will stand out for sure... The Saxons might throw all they have at us if they catch a whiff of us there snooping about. Worst scenario..."

Phoebe shook her head. "After the Saxon's lost the Duchess super-weapon, they started a program to indoctrinate kids to be ultimately loyal to their cause - and the Imperial remnants' cause as well." A deep breath. "It's a fate I seem to have narrowly avoided myself. But that means their facility on Zeltros has a bunch of kids, and they might throw them at us if we're not careful."

[Axel Ward]

Axel scowled darkly. "Kids? I don't want to have to fight a bunch of kids, even if they are dangerous."

[Phoebe Wren]

"Exactly. I don't wanna fight them either... so we gotta be careful. It's gonna be quite the headache, this one..."

[Riza]

"Does this crew even have the capability to deal with that situation? Even if we do it right, and there are kids there who believe we're coming to destroy their way of life. We're a band of killers, not equipped to deal with even a pacified group of kids."

[Treya Laerrin]

"We may have to call in reinforcements," Treya agreed. She pulled up a sector map of all of the clan whereabouts. "Fortunately, it seems like some of the Hutts are wanting to call for a ceasefire. Seems like casualties are starting to matter to them, the ugly lot."

The clan matriarch peered over and then nodded. "We'll serve as the recon team and the rest will be on standby. One ship should be able to slip under their observation but not the whole fleet. We'll be alone until then, but we'll have each other."

[Phoebe Wren]

Phoebe nodded, and felt some relief that the other clans would be involved. "This concerns all Mandalorians. Good to see the others are involved too. Being a young clan should be an advantage too."

She looked at the maps up ahead, focusing mostly on Zeltros. "I've never been to Zeltros... what sort of firepower do the locals have? Or any military power at all? Would they be open to cooperating with us?"

[Axel Ward]

Axel grimaced, shaking his head. "I don't know much about Zeltros. But about half of the small-time gangers I knew as I kid wanted to retire there. It's supposed to be a party all day, every day."

[Treya Laerrin]

"Intel reports on Zeltros are intriguing, for lack of better terms," Treya said, "If you've spoken with Dennah, you may have noticed that she has an aura to her. She's not unique in this regard; her people emit pheremones and have an empathic connection with others.

"Combine an entire population of them and you have a planet that has survived via pure persuasion. They really are quite a phenomenal society in this galaxy of warfare that we live in."

[Riza]

"Nothing like a society completely lacking discipline," Riza added, derisively.
