"I'm not denying what you've done," she held up a hand defensively. "What I'm talking about is the choices you made to protect her."

Phoebe sighed. "Just... there's people on both sides who will say different things, but don't let that weigh you down."

"Ah." Vanito looked down and then back up at her. "I'm not the only one whose children are under Clan Saxon's watch. That being said, not all will regret their choices such as me. Are you ready to put them down?"

Thinking of her answer, she took a deep breath to steady her nerves. "I don't know if I am." In the Alliance, people had done what they were told to do most of the time, because that's how soldiers were.

Mandalorians weren't soldiers, she reminded herself, and didn't blindly follow just anyone.
