Peace and Quiet [Day 11, MA]

[Riza]

Truth be told, Riza was quite tired of the planet already. It made her head feel foggy and she made an effort to spend as little time down on the surface, among the Zeltron people, as possible. Thus, this afternoon as she prepped to assist in the later endeavors she took some time with a book and a comfortable seat in the lounge area.

Legs curled up underneath her she sat in a dignified manner, back straight and shoulders straight.

[Phoebe Wren]

Phoebe also had a thought of relaxing before some stealth mission later. Stealth wasn't her strong suit and she felt like not thinking too much about it in the next hours.

Some snacks and holo-watching should do the trick.

Spotting Riza on the couch as she entered was a surprise. "Hey," Phoebe lifted a hand om greeting. "Want anything from the fridge?"

[Riza]

Riza was quiet for a few seconds, unresponsive, but she flipped the page to the next and then looked up as her thumb held her place. "No," she said, looking to Phoebe, "but thank you."

[Phoebe Wren]

"Eh no problem really," she said as she opened the fridge to get herself a beer. "Just the right thing to offer a fellow vod while I'm here."

The can was opened, producing a soft hiss from pressurized air in the container. "So..." Phoebe paused a moment and took a sip before continuing, "mind if I join you for a moment?"

[Riza]

Glancing at her book Riza thought for a moment, drew her hand over the inner pages and sought the page number before deftly closing the book and seeing it aside.

"If you would like," she said, straightening her posture a bit.

[Phoebe Wren]

Where Riza's posture was straight, Phoebe slouched as she plopped herself into one of the chairs.

Another sip of cold beer.

"So... you and Axel, huh?" No point in beating around the bush. "Didn't strike me as your type."

[Riza]

"My.. type?" she asked instinctively.

"Ah," she nodded understanding, "you mean that you did not think he was the kind of person that I would seek. Well, in truth, you were right. Axel, by appearance, is not the kind of person I would normally seek. Though, perhaps, it may interest you to know it was little more than a fun night."

[Phoebe Wren]

She raised an eyebrow slightly at that and drank her beer silently. "Yeah, not the type of person you'd seek." Phoebe felt like she had seen seasoned Huttball players with more smarts than Axel.

"Not sure if that's of interest to me though, unless that's a warning that I'll need to sterilize my bed. Or vacate the premises tonight."

[Riza]

"I'm not sure your interest in knowing at all," she paused, as if to ascertain she was using the right ones, "so I thought it best to provide answers to the questions I thought you might be looking to have answered. Though, as far as your second point you needn't worry. I'm a big girl, I clean up after myself. So long as you don't barge in without a care you'd not have such a problem"

[Phoebe Wren]

Hey it's my room too, she thought quietly. "I would rather not barge in on you guys," Phoebe shrugged almost nonchalantly. Almost. Being nonchalant wasn't exactly a skill she had. "But I figure someone like Axel would make enough noise that I'd know not to walk in if you two are busy."

She did make a mental note about boiling her sheets and covers. Just to be on the safe side.

"He seemed way more bashful about it all when I ran into him leaving the room than you are though. Almost makes me wonder if you made him embarrassed or something." She chuckled briefly.

[Riza]

"Nothing I did, no," she said, thought, and then revealed, "Axel is of softer heart than his appearance gives him for. Not such the rough brute you'd think him to be. It's," she dropped the thought.

[Phoebe Wren]

She chuckled some more. "It's...? Look, I knew Axel before coming here, and I know him enough to know that he's kind of a big softy underneath the grunts and facial hair."

"But lovey-dovey stuff?"

[Riza]

"Emotional," she paused, corrected, "big-softies like Axel are more prone to being embarrassed by the interaction. Certainly those with lacking discipline. Though, I would wonder by what you infer with 'lovey-dovey' because I do believe Axel and I have come to a fair understanding that such a term could not apply."

As if realizing her explanation was a bit more... overdone, than normal, she quickly fixed that with a simple phrase.

"It's just sex."

[Phoebe Wren]

"Uh-huh." Judging by her tone, it seemed like she wasn't completely buying the it's just sex-explanation.

"I guess you could do worse than Axel then if it's just sex. Or better." Phoebe drained down a big gulp of beer. Funny how this was the most talk she had gotten out of Riza in a while. "Guessing it wasn't bad if it's gonna happen again, eh?"

[Riza]

"If it is," Riza said, cocking her head to the side as she regarded Phoebe for a moment. Deep red eyes reading the woman before them, calculating.

"Axel understands something basic to this arrangement, that it has no ties. So, yes, it is likely to happen again as he has understood and accepted that arrangement."

[Phoebe Wren]

"Oh come on," Phoebe grinned at how proper and reserved Riza was being about this. "Not gonna drop any details or verdict or rating? You're no fun, Riza."

[Riza]

"I have the distinct impression, now more than ever, we have lived in entirely different worlds," Riza said, directly, though the gaiety of Phoebe seemed to have effect enough that she smirked.

[Phoebe Wren]

"Well yeah. None of us here come from the same places." She punctuated her sentence with a gulp of beer. "Call it ribbing or just locker-room talk, but eh, it's fun to just shoot the breeze, no? It's been some trying weeks after all."

[Riza]

"Honestly," she said after a moment, "I have no desire to speak of how Axel performs in the bedroom."

Riza looked away for a moment, trying to find the words but failing to. Instead, a breath, and another angle.

"I do not mean to be rude, I see what it is you are trying to do, but as I said, our interests in conversation on this topic appear to differ greatly. Just as our other views do, it would seem."

[Phoebe Wren]

"Oh? How do you mean?" she asked with a raised eyebrow.
