Laffy Taffy (D4, LA)

[Phoebe Wren]

After the (not) harsh round of excersise, it was time to just lounge on one of the couches and watch holos. Not that there seemed to be anything interesting on at the moment, so it was just flipping through the channels in search of anything to watch.

[Nekoinu]

Phoebe's holocall began to blip. When checked on, the identification was unknown, but there was some familiarity to it. There was no logical explanation for such a feeling. It simply was.

[Phoebe Wren]

She looked at the caller, and at the ID. What was this feeling? Was she dreading it was from her parents, if they were even still alive after what happened on Concordia?

Doubtful.

But there were others too... maybe...?

Muting the screen, Phoebe sat up and breathed deeply. Then accepted the call.

[Nekoinu]

On the display was a familiar face, a Chagrian by the name of Sarana. She was a few years older than Phoebe, being barely an adult when they had first met on Concordia.

"Long time no see, huh?" Sarana mused, "Sup?"

[Phoebe Wren]

That was not a face she had expected to see any time soon. She hadn't exactly really said proper goodbye and all to Sarana, and her "parents".

"Sarana," there was surprise in her tone. "This is unexpected... I mean, I haven't talked to you guys in years. Long time no see indeed." She chuckled awkwardly for a moment. "I'm... fine, I guess? You?"

[Nekoinu]

Sarana smirked. "You're saying that," she replied, "Imagine the look on my face when old man Tyvesh told us to 'find the one whom would be called Phoebe.'" She shook her head. "Asshole doesn't think you earned your name yet."

[Phoebe Wren]

At least that made her crack a small laugh. "I still have no idea how someone earns a name in his opinion. How is the old jerk anyway?"

It felt strangely nice to talk like this, to someone who wasn't part of the current Mandalorian business.

[Nekoinu]

"Have to past his test," Sarana answered with a shrug, "At least Kos named me early. It wasn't until a couple months before we picked you up that he was calling me 'the Chagrian' all the time."

Sarana's expression turned a bit guilty. "I'm guessing you know I'm not calling just to catch up though. Sorry for not doing so sooner, now that I think about it."

[Phoebe Wren]

"Mm," she nodded. It made sense. "Well... I guess I should apologize too for not having left you guys any messages. When I left, or after. Sorry."

Phoebe relaxed in her seat, preparing herself for what was coming next. "What can I do for you, Sarana?"

[Nekoinu]

"Eh, Tyvesh told me that you had to follow your own path," Sarana said. Then, her face turned a bit pensive. "Which is why he's got me worried if he's making me reach out to you and others too." She suddenly broke out into a chuckle. "He didn't want Kos to do it. Said he'd be too awkward."

Sarana composed herself. "You are going to Corellia, right?"

[Phoebe Wren]

Phoebe felt herself tense up. "How... how could you know I'm on my way to Corellia? And what's going on?"

[Nekoinu]

"That's the weird part, isn't it? Tyvesh said you'd meet us there," Sarana said. She massaged her forehead. "I've picked up some of his hunting techniques but this is way too much. Am I going to end up like some weird prophet like him?"

[Phoebe Wren]

"Hopefully not. If it's any consolation, you sound like you make more sense than him still," she offered with a vague smile, an attempt of reassurance for the Chagrian.

"But I guess the old jerk still knows a thing or two, since yeah, I am on my way to Corellia. So what's going down there? I hope you guys aren't in trouble...?"

[Nekoinu]

"I'm glad Kos took more of a role in raising me during my tadpole days than Tyvesh." Sarana leaned in and added, "The bug isn't a fan of water."

Sarana sighed. "Well," she continued, "He told me that we aren't in trouble 'yet' but that we'll need all the help we can get. Of course, when I asked, he told me to wait and see."

She crossed her arms. "Asshole."

[Phoebe Wren]

"Asshole indeed," she grinned, crossing her arms too as she leaned against the back of the couch.

"Ok, I'll meet up with you on Corellia then? I'm... travelling with some decent folks. They might be able to help too, depending on what the trouble is."

[Nekoinu]

"You ever realize that these weird bug people and lizard people always have some weird, asshole tradition? Kill things, become worthy of something?

"Whatever, that's not what's important." Sarana shook her head. "He's so annoying. Okay, yes, meet us on Corellia, but his cryptic bug butt said that you'd follow another, that this individual would lead the way for you to us."

[Phoebe Wren]

"I..." she frowned softly, "I don't like the sound of those circumstances. Hopefully it's just a bad feeling and nothing more. Stay out of danger at least, alright?"

"And I'll give him a piece of my mind on his hokey traditions and stuff when I see him again. At least he doesn't want us to appease some Scorekeeper of some sort to be 'worthy', praise be."

[Nekoinu]

"Doing it for old time's sake, huh?" Sarana smiled. "Thanks. To be honest, we had a few turn us down. I'm glad you're more open."

She shrugged. "We're not pursuing any bounties on Corellia, at the very least. Old bug said it'd be like a storm though, one 'not to be concerned with.'"

[Phoebe Wren]

"Hey... I might've been an ungrateful brat back then, but... you guys did my old man a solid. And you saw to it that I didn't just run off and die on my own. At least not right away," she chuckled, shaking her head. "I owe you guys one in return."

Truth told, she bore them no ill will. She had just not been in a good place when life had landed her with the Gand's "family".

"Dunno about this storm he's talking about though, guess we'll have to see what happens. Or check the weather forecast. You guys on Corellia now or en route?"

[Nekoinu]

"I wanted to chase after you when you left," Sarana admitted, "But he told me not to. Forbid me, really. Said you needed to find your own way."

Sarana shook her head. "Nope, we're finishing up a job here on Sullust. Terrible place to be." She smiled. "Kos has our ship outfitted with a 0.6 Hyperdrive now. Isn't that something?"
