A knock came on Rose's door in the evening. The drinking contest had been hard on a lot of members of the crew and Alister figured he'd find the young woman here.

"Hey, you got a bit of time, Sorenn?" His gruff voice called from the other side of the door.

Rose pulled out her earbuds and paused the podcast she’d been listening to. She’d already dressed down for the evening: a pair of satin pyjama pants in a blueish aqua, patterned with pink roses and sprays of white baby’s breath; her shirt didn’t match, a soft cotton sleep-tee in dove grey with the slogan I’m allergic to mornings inscribed in blue.

“It’s open,” she called in response, inviting the man in. She was sitting on her bunk, nestled into the dusky pink faux-fur blanket she’d spread over the bed.

He opened the door and stepped inside noticing how she was dressed a moment later. "Sorry, didn't think you'd be heading towards bed this early, Sorenn."

"I can come by another time if you like."

She waved off the comment, “nah, just getting comfortable. What can I do you for?”

"Well, had a few questions for you, Sorenn." He reached up a hand to scratch at his stubble. "First off I noticed you seemed to like to tinker with things."

"Is that just a hobby, or something you're really interested in?"

“Is there a difference?” she smiled at the ruggedly handsome man. She turned the datapad in her hands to show him that she’d been examining the specs of the Blaster Actuating Module, trying to determine if she’d screwed up the modification she’d tried to make through misunderstanding the gear, or through clumsiness.

“It’s something I’m interested in, sure. I like knowing how things work. I like taking them apart and understanding them.”

He nodded. "I think so. In my at least hobbyists are...." Alister paused trailing off, and cocking his head to the side as if listening to something.

"Grab your guns, we need to get to engineering." He said a moment later before heading towards the door.

Rose strapped on Kiss and Bang without hesitation, grabbing Sarad - the kal dagger - to buckle into place on the way. It didn't matter to her that she was in her pyjamas, or that she was barefoot. She followed Alister after just a moment.

Sometimes barefoot and pajamas was all you had, still at least there wasn't glass on the floor. The ship began to shudder as they arrived at the elevator and Alister punched in the buttons for the lowest evel.

"Looks like they've jammed the hyperdrive somehow and are boarding. Was likely some sort of variation of an EMP. Still we got to best them to engineering and try to get the drive working again. Cant stay sitting in this ambush."

Cursing softly, “do we know who it is?”

"I've got no clue. Probably someone we managed to piss off." It was easy enough to do.

Arriving at the bottom, he began jogging towards engineering. "Shit, looks like some if them almost beat us there."

((Roll cool for initiative.))

Rose wondered if this was just a normal day for a Mandolorian, she was more accustomed to keeping a low profile. She might have to rethink her policies about when she should wear armour...

The four goons hit the ground, the noise seems to draw out whoever us inside though, and a older woman steps around the corner pistol in hand.

Taking aim and keeping her distance, the woman sighted her guns at Alister and fired. Wearing armor he seemed the tougher of the two after all.

Not having the drop on her target wasn't optimal, but Rose still lined up her shots and smoothly fired at the new challenger. If she had her armour on, she might have simply stood her ground, but she ducked behind a convenient support pillar, just in case.

The two hits hurt the woman that much was obvious, and she was eyeing a place to run to as Alister lined up his shot.
