[Day 1, Late Morning] Back in Town

Postby Riza » Wed Aug 28, 2019 1:56 pm

For many, the sight of a Chiss was probably a rarity. Perhaps luckily, none of the patrons here would ever know just how close they came to a true flesh and blooded Chiss as when Riza entered the establishment she did so within her heavily customized Laminate armor. A thermal cloak was worn over the shoulders to keep heat from being soaked up into her suit.

Strapped with enough weapons to show that she means her business, she casually shifted her way through the crowd. Gliding almost between people as they shifted in their conversations. All the way until she would reach the bar.

The bartender, a blue twi'lek gal just old enough to not be a dancer anymore, glanced over at the newcomer decked in armor. It wasn't unusual for people to be packing in this place. The opposite was far less likely.

"What can I get ya?" she asked after slamming down the drinks for a couple other patrons.

"A little gossip," she said, pulling credits from her utility belt and sliding them across the counter toward the woman. It was a couple hundred in value.

"And whatever else comes with it," she said. "Looking to make some money while I'm in town."

"Giving out money like that isn't making it," the bartender mused, "Or is that supposed to be an investment?" She cracked a smile and began fiddling with the credits. Her hands still danced around delicately, even if her demeanor was now more gruff.

"Were you hoping to get the scoop from me or from the depths of the Maw?" Unless Riza had somehow forgotten, that was code for speaking with Mekota. "You certainly look the serious sort."

"Proper investments insure proper results," she replied, running her hand along the counter while she considereal the options.

"I'm all ear's for any gossip you wish to share," she said, but tilted her head before she continued, "but, perhaps it would be best if I pass along my greetings personally. It has been some time since I have been here last, and I would not wish to be forgotten."

"Not always, I'm afraid. Sometimes it's like money just going down the drain," the bartender mused. She then dumped an unfinished drink down the sink, dropped off earlier during their conversation.

"Can't say I remember you, sugar. I'm pretty sure I would have, so this must be the first time we met." The twi'lek leaned forward with a flirtatious biting of the lips. "Lots of new hunters, I must say. You might have your work cut out for you. I'll be rooting for you, though."

Riza considered smirking at the bite, but seeing as the woman wouldn't be able to see her expression anyway she saved herself the effort, "Been in this game long enough, might just be that some of these new hunters will only end up offering themselves as bait for my own."

"Always have to make due with what circumstance has offered you, after all," she finished.

"Isn't there some sort of code among you sorts? Or is that only for official guild members, back when they were more of a thing with the Empire still around." The bartender shrugged. It didn't really seem to matter to her.

"Well, not all of them are schmucks. Heard some Mandalorians were coming to town." She looked the Chiss (though she couldn't know that) over and shrugged again. "If you're looking for a challenge, there's some off-world crime boss that wanted one of them. One of his goons couldn't stop going on about the guy. Made fun of the guy being called 'Breaker.'"

"No harm in letter the rookies thin themselves out," she commented while she pondered over the information for a second, rolling her fingers along the counter. "Any idea what they're paying for this guy?"

"Couldn't say. The guy mainly prattled on about how he could take this 'Breaker' in a fight." The bartender rolled her eyes. "Guy couldn't even handle his liquor."

"What else he say about this 'Breaker', anything interesting?" she asked, "Could be that I'm thankful if any of it leads to an easier payday."

The bartender eyed the hunter's weaponry and then shrugged. "You're probably in luck," she said, "From what I heard, the guy prefers to be up close and personal. Can't do that if you're already down for the count.

"That being said, seems like they preferred it if this guy was taken in alive. Most stun settings don't go too far, from what I know."

"The running mouth," she said, but then shifted slightly before clarifying, "the guy who you collected all this from. Any idea where he hangs around? Say anything on what he planned to do? Might be that I can use his plan against him, and to my advantage," she said.

"I think he wanted to impress me. My types more of the professional," the bartender mused, "They tend to survive more.

"As for where he went, I couldn't say. His plan seemed to be running around from bar to bar to see if anyone has seen this 'Breaker' or any of his friends."

"If he comes through again, try putting him in contact with me. Tell him it'd be better, quicker, to contact me than continue running from bar to bar and just hoping. I am, unlike most, a professional. Might be able to work an angle from there, and then you have my contact information yourself," she said with a slight shift of her position, "if you ever find yourself with the need of it."

"I'll gladly take it," the twi'lek said. She took out a worn notebook and a pen with a grin. "I find it neater than datapads."

She then let out a wistful sigh. "Could chat with me about the rest of the bounties," she said, "But I couldn't give you exactly all the details."

Riza offered, quickly, the details of how to reach her on her personal communicator. Glancing around the room as the woman wrote it all down and then looking back at the paper and pen one more time before it would inevitably be put aside.

"I am willing to hear of any you have a particular interest in, only the best," she said, "but I should also still pay my visit. Pay some respect to the owner of the house," she added.

"Oh, we can always get in touch another time," the bartender said, waving the notebook in her hands. She placed it back in its pocket and then picked up a commlink attached to the bar. "Show this one to the depths of the Maw."

The twi'lek gave a wink and, shortly afterwards, an aqualish lumbered up besides Riza. He grunted and walked away, expecting the huntress to follow along.

As the aqualish approached the bar Riza leaned away from it, but just prior she she stole once last glance toward the twi'lek behind the bar and presently followed the aqualish toward the inevitable destination.

The bartender offered one passing wink before getting back to addressing other patrons. It'd be hard to see more of her as the aqualish led the way deeper through the establishment. All matter of debauchery was to be had, but they all knew to get out of a bouncer's way.

Otherwise, their lives were forfeit.

"Who you take to me?" Mekota demanded to the aqualish in Basic. He had a tendency to prefer poor grammar over using his lisp. The aqualish simply shrugged. "Get out then."
